At the Grand Canyon, a Hungry Squirrel Approaches a Tourist Requesting Water

A tourist responded to a squirrel’s need for assistance by providing it with some water to quench its thirst. When Paul Camps, originally from Gloucester, England, was vacationing in Arizona’s Grand Canyon, he saw that the local squirrel was acting in an unusual manner.

Paul explained to Storyful how the incident occurred as follows: “The squirrel started to follow me and put its arms up to me like it wanted picking up. I passed my water bottle to my girlfriend so that I could take a picture on my phone. As I did so, the squirrel started to put its arms up towards my girlfriend.”, writes dailyphew.com

The two of them observed that the squirrel was parched and looking for something to quench its thirst. Paul held out the open bottle of water that he had brought along with him, and the squirrel drank from it until it was completely empty, all the while holding the bottle steady in his little paws.

The poor animal may have become disoriented as a result of dehydration, but fortunately, he recognized these humans as perhaps being able to assist him. Paul made a joke after the thirsty squirrel had finished drinking, saying, “It goes without saying that we didn’t drink from the same bottle.”
