Prayers for Jimmy Carter as His Foundation Shares an Updated Announcement Just Three Months After Rosalyn’s Passing

Former President Jimmy Carter has been in hospice care for a year. His grandson, Jason Carter, shared that while his body is weakening, his spirit remains strong. Carter’s foundation also expressed gratitude for the love and privacy they’ve received.

Despite being in hospice, Carter attended his wife Rosalynn’s funeral, touching many with a blanket embroidered with their names and the year they met in Plains, Georgia.

Carter, 98, entered hospice care after multiple hospital stays and chose to spend his remaining time at home with family. He was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2015 and had brain surgery in 2019. In addition to serving as president, Carter was a peanut farmer, Navy Lieutenant, Sunday School teacher, and Habitat for Humanity volunteer. He lives in Plains, Georgia, with Rosalynn and their four children.
