A sweet dog, later named Bella, spent her life in a city shelter.
Dog shelters in Romania are very different from those in the United States. The surroundings are not good and the pets are frequently kept outside. Dogs in shelters in Romania do not consume as much food as they should because of the country’s poverty.
Bella was underweight and scared. She had never been held or loved. Being at the shelter was breaking her spirit. In the video below, you will see that Howl Of A Dog, a rеscuе group in Romania, took Bella from the shelter in order to find her a forever home.
Bella and the rеscuеrs go right to the doctor. She looks completely at peace as she sits next to her new human friend in the car. While receiving affection, she realizes that something big is about to happen in her life.
Bella was utterly exhausted. Shelter workers told the rеscuеrs that Bella hardly slept. She had a hard time feeling safe in her kennel. As she sits there, being pet, her eyes start to close. It’s incredible to see her finally relax.
Then Bella does something so heartwarming. She places her head on her rеscuеr’s lap. As they head to the vet’s office, she is able to get some sleep. The car is calm and quiet and the woman beside her is kind and gentle. This is what Bella needed. Feeling safe is everything to a dog.
