In Mexico, a dolphin became stuck in a little river.
A group of individuals observed the worried dolphin and jumped into the river to aid the distraught animal.
A man can be seen swimming after the animal at the beginning of the video in an effort to catch it and save it.
The dolphin struggles against the guy and swims away in an effort to get away. Quickly jumping in to assist him in catching the dolphin are two other men.
As the struggle continues, more people jump in to help them catch the dolphin in the river.
On one side of the riverbank, the guys finally manage to catch the dolphin as the other men watch.
The dolphin must be placed on an improvised stretcher by over a dozen men. They finally succeed in lifting the dolphin from the murky water. The gentle mammal is being loaded into a vehicle by the men as it is being transported back to the beach.
One of the males can be heard yelling as they set the dolphin on the truck. As the rescuers shout orders to one another, there is a flurry of action.
One voice can be heard ordering them to wet the dolphin. While one rescuer encourages everyone to calm down, another asks for assistance with his foot.
One of the men explains in Spanish, “This was a more challenging rescue because it was a larger dolphin.
“He believed we were after him. He’s in a better situation now, though, and will soon be swimming in the sea again, the rescuer assured. He added that the dolphin had been observed with another dolphin at first and was a male.
The man told the dolphin, preparing it for the journey back to the open sea, “You’re going back to meet your pal, dude.”
Thankfully, the dolphin maintains his composure throughout the incident.
A normal dolphin can weigh between 330 and 1,500 pounds. It makes sense that the crew appeared to be exhausted when they lifted the dolphin from the vehicle.
Even though they are worn out, the video nevertheless exudes a sense of optimism and eager anticipation.
Our favorite scene is when a young child, possibly no older than 10, is seen assisting in carrying the dolphin that has washed up on the shore.
The seawater begins to wash over the dolphin once the men successfully transport it to waist-deep water. He begins to move at this point.
He begins to move more quickly the deeper they go into the water. The dolphin gets out and swims away before the men have a chance to lower the stretcher all the way.
To cheers of “Goodbye!” the dolphin soon vanishes into the sea.
Before totally disappearing, his fin briefly reappears. The sun’s reflection on the ocean is all that is left.
Since it was posted, the video has received over one million views.
And it makes sense—one it’s of those rare videos that inspires us to believe in the inherent goodness of others. The world needs more people like these good men, as one commentator on a video stated.
