Although she isn’t a real Pokémon, the internet is in awe of this adorable little girl’s odd coloring, and many users have excitedly made comparisons to the well-known Pickachu.
Hoewer, she is a golden brushtail possum after all!
After falling from her mother’s back and becoming defenseless and alone, the little possum was sаvеd.
She was fortunately discovered, sаvеd, and taken to the Boronia Veterinary Clinic and Hospital in VIC, Australia.
It appears that golden brushtail possums are merely regular brushtail possums with yellow fur as opposed to brown.
Low levels of melanin caused by a certain mutation are what give the color its golden hue.
As it turns out, brushtail possums can be any color, including black, silver/grey, red, or yellow, although brown is by far the most frequent.
