Alex discovered a newborn calf that needed saving while performing an impromptu task in the Australian Outback. He was taken aback to discover the calf was by himself.

The cow was lying on his side with one hoof entangled in barbed wire. He was unable to move or stand back up since he was devoid of energy.
Alex offered the newborn calf any water he had because it was a hot day. The timing of Alex’s discovery of the trapped animal was fortunate.

Fortunately, the fence was ancient, and Alex used some of his tools to quickly untangle the barbed wire. The calf’s hoof was free, but he was still too exhausted to stand.
The calf still required more water, so Alex decided to head back to his camp, which was a one-hour drive away, to obtain some. The calf was a few meters away from where he was initially stuck when Alex came back.

It was a positive indication, so Alex gave the parched cow a dish of water. The young cow cheerfully drank from the bowl while occasionally toppling it.
Alex saw another cow off in the distance. The mother cow of the calf turned out to be the adult cow. The young calf drank from his mother as soon as they were reunited.
