A retired nurse has started hospice care for dogs who have reached the end of their lives.

Nicola Coyle has always cared about dogs, but after retiring as a nurse, she was able to devote all of her efforts to helping animals who had been aba.ndoned in their final days.
She founded Grey Muzzle Canine Hospice in Mansfield, England, to lavish affection on these pets, writes pawmypets

Nicola can’t bear the thought of dogs dying in shelters without the affection they deserve, so she takes them in. Any dog with a life expectancy of six months or fewer, or any dog on the euthanasia list, is a candidate.

She makes a container checklist for each puppy she welcomes into her home, which always includes a steak supper at the local pub and a trip to the beach!

Nicola currently cares for two or three dogs at the same time and arranges foster placements for others. Whatever time these dogs have left, Nicola is determined to make the most of it!
